Quoted Figures

The figures quoted are taken from the actual time of development of the tuning software for that car when it was new.

Your engine and the various components must be in good condition for the engine to achieve the power and torque figures. The correct fuel must also be used. Under certain adverse ambient conditions, your ECU will automatically reduce the power for safety. This is perfectly normal.

Special RICA ECU Upgrades

Volvo C30 T5 (and S40 / V50 T5)

Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, + Handling Package

The new Volvo C30 T5 is the latest model in the Volvo range to undergo the complete RICA treatment. Three stages of engine tuning are available as well as a new handling package.

Specifications: Power Torque
Original: 225 hp 320 nm
Stage 1: 250 hp 380 nm
Stage 2: 285 hp 420 nm
Stage 3: 325 hp + 500 nm +

Note - Stage 3 with 325 hp and 500 nm is with the GT2871R turbo and is a ready-made package. Different turbos can be used for different performance levels if required, however custom dyno tuning would then be required.

Engine Tuning Details:

Stage 1 = ECU Remap Only
Stage 2 = ECU Remap + Sports Downpipe + Cat-back
Stage 3 = ECU Remap + Full exhaust + Turbo + Manifold

Everything that you need is included in this kit. You do not need to purchase any other additional items or do any custom modification, fabrication, or welding. It literally is a complete kit.

Performance Handling Package:

The new handling package includes a complete upgrade for the brakes and suspension and comprises of the following:

  • Custom RICA Coilover Suspension with adjustable compression, rebound, and height

Volvo D5 163 hp Euro 3 - Sports Tune

S60 / S80 / V70 / XC70 / XC90 D5 Euro 3 2001-2006

 The D5 RICA sports tune is a special upgrade designed to give a more sporty feel from the D5 models. The engine response is sharper, the mid-range torque is higher, and top end power is increased giving you T5 beating performance and a lot more fun!

Available at all RICA dealers in the UK. Please note that this sports upgrade is for the Euro 3 engine only. The Euro 4 engine tunes to 226 bhp.

VAG 1.9 PD 130 "Donnington Park" Tune

Audi / Seat / Skoda / VW 1.9 PD 130 hp

In 2005 Chip Tuning Ltd entered a Skoda Fabia VRS 1.9 PD in the Tuner Grand-Prix at Donnington Park. This car was remapped with special software developed by RICA Engineering. It was very successful, securing Chip Tuning Ltd with 1st place in the 1/4 mile race in the diesel class. The car achieved a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds, and was completely smoke free!

How to Order

If you wish to have special RICA software installed, you must specify this at the time of ordering when booking your car in for the ECU upgrade.

If you don't specify this then you will have the normal version of software installed.

You can upgrade to the special version at a later date. Contact your nearest RICA agent for details.
